The Alternate ELPAC is designed for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.[1] Students with significant cognitive disabilities will take the Alternate ELPAC if their IEP team determines the student is unable to take the ELPAC, even with accommodations.[2] This is an individualized determination made by the IEP team and cannot be based simply on your child’s eligibility criteria.[3] You can visit the California Department of Education’s website for more information on the Alternate ELPAC, available at: https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ep/alternateelpac.asp
