The CAA is given to pupils one on one (text examiner to pupil). Depending on the pupil’s disability or needs, the CAA may or may not involve the pupil’s independent use of the computer used for the testing, or, for the science portion of the testing, the student’s independent responses to the embedded performance tasks. Unless something is prohibited by the CAASPP Test Administration Manual, students may have instructional supports, such as the language of instruction by a translator, physical supports, and any resources documented in the student’s IEP or Section 504 plan.
