Starting from the date the district receives your written consent to assessment, the district has sixty (60) calendar days to complete the assessment(s) and develop your child’s IEP at an IEP meeting, unless you agree to an extension in writing. In counting calendar days, do not count the days that fall on school vacations in excess of five school days, such as those days in between regular school sessions.
If a referral for assessment is made 30 calendar days or less before the end of the regular school year, an IEP shall be developed within 30 calendar days after the beginning of the next school year.[1]
