Special education students who are placed in a public hospital, state licensed children’s hospital, psychiatric hospital, proprietary hospital or a health facility for medical purposes are the educational responsibility of the school district, SELPA, or county office of education in which the hospital or facility is located.[1] A SELPA may be made up of a district, a collection of districts, or a county office of education.
