There are three early intervention services subject to what is known as the Family Cost Participation Program: respite, day care and camping. This program only applies to families whose annual income is at least 400% of the federal poverty level. [Cal. Welf. & Inst. Code Sec. 4783.] In 2019, for example, 400% of the federal poverty level for a family of four was $100,400. Families with an income at this level or higher pay a percentage of the cost of their child’s respite, day care, or camping services.
