Yes. If your complaint involves an issue of disability discrimination at a public school or by public school employees under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, you can file a disability-based discrimination complaint with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights (OCR). Complaints of educational discrimination against students with disabilities by school districts may also be filed with the CDE by using the Uniform Complaint Procedures.[1] Issues of disability-based educational discrimination, however, are usually appropriate for filing with OCR.
