Rather than have school districts be responsible for certain health services, the Legislature has decided to enter into interagency agreements with other state agencies to provide these services to students. The primary interagency related services are physical and occupational therapy (PT/OT), which are offered by California Children’s Services (CCS).
These Interagency related services for special education were included in state legislation as Assembly Bill (AB) 3632 and are codified in law at are sometimes referred to as “Assembly Bill (AB) 3632” services or “Cal. Gov. Code Chapter 26.5” services. AB 3632 will be used when referring to interagency related services in this handbook.
